If this doesn’t work, and you are on windows 7. It is likely because you the chip in your device is a counterfeit. This was especially prevalent in the Link Depot units sold EVERYWHERE (Walmart, Fry’s, Amazon, Ebay, etc)
The only alternatives here are to use Windows XP or to get a new device.
